The "Queen"

Kady has been staying with us and she loves to fussed over. She was sleeping on Gabe's lap on this pillow. He picked her up and carried her into the other room like this. She hardly moved. She is such a pampered pooch.

Please?

Bess was making a snack. When she turned around, she had some company. I guess Gracie and Willie wanted some too.

Silly Birdhouse

I saw this birdhouse at our local feed store and it was very funny! Seems like a fun project to add a silly face to the front of a birdhouse. I wonder if the birds would still use it?

Emergency Strobe

Today there was an accident on our road and I was trying to capture the emergency vehicle light as it flashed, but could not catch it with the light in focus. I set the focus on the trees behind and was able to get the flashing light...not sure I love the effect, but it was fun to figure out how to do it.

Homeschool Boys Club

Gabe attends a weekly homeschool boys club. There are eleven boys and do they have a terrific time. The mom who started it has so many great ideas. Each week they do some type of craft or other project, have a snack, discuss and work on a service project and of course do a lot of physical activity of one sort or another. In warmer weather, flag football is the main event, this time of year...sledding on their wonderful hill. This club has been such a blessing for Gabe and for Brian and I as we have seen Gabe mature and grow this last year.

This is Gabe coming up the hill after his last run of the day. He was very tired, but oh, so happy after a great afternoon.

Winter Evening

Anyone that lives in the north will recognize this sky. It is a classic cold, winter, evening sky. Even without the snow, you would be able to tell that the temps would be near zero. Beautiful, but very cold.

Gracie

Yesterday I posted a picture of Willie, today is Gracie's turn. This pose is one of her favorites. She often lays like this for quite a while. Silly dog!

Mourning Dove

The birds have been especially busy on and around the feeders. The Mourning Doves prefer to feed on the ground and do a nice job of cleaning up the fallen seed from the other birds.

New Quilt

This is the fabric for a new quilt. It is a New Year's Day mystery quilt. I am always a bit behind...it is no longer New Year's Day, but it will still be a mystery as I will only proceed with one set of instructions at a time. The fabric is all washed and pressed. Hopefully I will have time with weekend to get started.

New Camera

I'll start off this years Project 365 with my new toy. Brian got me a new camera for Christmas. My old one was a PowerShot and I really liked it. This one has a few more bells and whistles and a "superzoom". I'm looking forward to taking some great shots with this.
