Daylily

The flowers in my perennial border seem especially nice this summer. I'm not sure if it the extra attention I have been giving them, the regular rain fall or something else, but they are lovely. This is a new daylily that I added this summer and I just love this red color.

Frogs

Here are a view of the frogs that Gabe gathered while visiting the pond. It was amazing to see all the different frogs and the different stages of development. We just love God's creation.

Nice View

We spent the afternoon enjoying the pond of a new friend. The view from the pond was so pretty.

Rose

I have several miniature roses. This red one opened today with an almost perfect bloom.

Summer Visitors

We have had a couple of little frogs move into our garden pond. It is so nice to have them visit.

Break in the Rain

We have had three days of rainy weather. Yesterday, late evening, the clouds opened up a bit and the sky turned this lovely peachy pink color. Add the fog to the mix and it was quite lovely.

Trumpet Creedper

This plant is very colorful and quite bold, but can be invasive. If you don't keep after it, it will really take over.

Flamingo

The youth group at church had a funny fundraiser where they would "flamingo" peoples yards and then charge to have them removed. (This was all done with the homeowners knowledge.) After the fundraiser, the leaders had all these extra flamingos. Well, I think these little guys are sort of cute in a silly sort of way, so three of them now ornament one of my perennial borders.

Crabs and Whelks

We do a lot of collecting while at the coast. Here is a jar with whelks and crabs. The kids enjoy being able to observe things up close. (We let the little guys go.)

Seaweed

This tidal pool at the most wonderful collection of algae and seaweed. What an abundance of life in these little pools.

Plants on the Rocks

It always amazes me to find plants growing right out of the rocks. Some hardy plants seem to be able to grow anywhere.

New Project

I finished one of my cross-stitch blocks while camping, so I started a new one. Nothing like a fresh blank piece of cloth. The possibilities are endless. This one will be a football player.

Just lovely

Purple Skies

We have a long view to our west and we regularly get awesome sunsets. This one was particularly grand.

Drinking or Fishing?

Our cat, Yowsie, often uses the pond to drink from. Sometimes I wonder, is he just drinking or checking out the fish in the pond for a quick snack!?
