Flooding

We have had a tremendous amount of rain and flooding this spring. The above dock has been underwater several times in the last few weeks, flooding the whole parking lot area. It finally went down enough for me to get down and take some pictures. This dock is a free dock on the Champlain Canal that runs through our area.

The water level is usually 3-4 feet below the edge of the dock. The canal has been so high that they have not even put out the buoys yet and the locks are not open. This is at least two weeks late.

Sunshine in a Bloom

I got a new camera this weekend and I'm playing with different settings. I like how the macro works on this camera.

My daffodils are in full bloom right now and looking so bright and sunny!

Roaming Roosters

These roosters have been roaming the neighborhood...okay we really don't live in a neighborhood, but our area. I'm sure someone has dropped them off. We call them "fox fodder". We have lots of foxes and coyotes around and I'm sure someone figured they wouldn't last long. This is the easy way out of getting rid of excess roosters. The problem is, they are managing to survive! It is quite humorous to see them wandering up and down the road. We'll see how long they last.

Library

We have three libraries that we frequent on a regular basis. This one has the best selection of Christian books. We made a quick stop here the other day to pick up that latest Yada Yada book.

Frog's Eggs

While visiting friends the other day, we spotted several clumps of frog's eggs in their pond. We always have a jar or two and our trusty net in the van, so we were able to get some. We have set up one of our tanks and will enjoy watching them hatch.

Eggs

We have chickens and I really enjoy them. They are so terribly silly to watch and of course, they give us wonderful eggs everyday. We have bantams, which are pint sized chickens and regular layers. We get anywhere from 4-8 eggs a day of varying sizes. Yum!

Daffodils

Some of my early daffodils have finally made their appearance this week. I just love the spring flowers. After our long dreary winter, they are such a blessing.

Gift Table

We had our secret prayer sister reveal dinner on Friday night. This is the lovely table full of gifts. I love this ministry at our church. It has been fun to bless a sister and also to be blessed. Our church has gone through a difficult time this past year and several ladies shared their heart at the dinner. It was a wonderful night. We drew names for the next 6-month session. What fun!

Woolie Bear

We have found several woolie bear caterpillars this week. The weather has turned nice and warm and everything seems to be waking up from their winter sleep.

Blues Skies

What a difference a day or two makes! This is the same view as my really gray sky from the other day and look at that beautiful blue and white. Today was a wonderful day, still cool, but so sunny and bright. I spent several hours outside today just enjoying the sun.

Iced Tea

I do not drink coffee or latte or cappuccino, but I love tea...hot and cold. I drink 3-4 cups of hot tea a day and every couple of days I'll throw in an iced-tea. I like Arizona Lemon Iced Tea. It is just sweet enough and has a nice lemony flower...yum!

Gray Skies

This is not a black and white picture...this is what the sky has looked like for days and days! I am so weary of it. I try and appreciate God's wonderful creation everyday, but this gray is getting very difficult to rejoice over! Will spring never come?

Crocus Revisited

I know I've already posted pictures of some of my crocuses, but with the wet, snowy, nasty weather we have had, these little guys deserve a showing.

I love my garden and will probably post a lot of pictures of it throughout the spring, summer and fall.

Pretty pots

These two lovely pots were giving to me by my good friend Lisa B. from Maine, for my birthday. Thanks Lisa, I love them and can't wait to put something wonderful and green in them.

They look like teacups put are actually plant pots! I think I'm going to plant some herbs in them and put them on my kitchen window sill!

Eggs

This is the pile of empty plastic Easter eggs. We took out all the candy after the kids egg hunt. I love the jumble of colors!

Sunset

On our way home from the party yesterday, we witnessed this gorgeous sunset. It was beautiful.

Sticky Snow

The snow we had yesterday was wet and sticky. It hung on everything, even the ropes of the clothesline.

Daffodils

The snow yesterday covered up most of my garden, but these daffodils still poked their heads out. They refuse to let the snow slow them down.

Piano Players

All of the kids love the piano. Dan and Hannah really look like they are getting into their music.

Playground Colors

I love all the bright colors and contrast at the playground.
